Ship carrying Libyan dinars intercepted in British waters

A boat carrying 120 million euros in cash for Muammar Gaddafi's regime was intercepted in British waters, writes Daily Mail.

According to the newspaper, members of the ship who went from Great Britain, tried to land in Tripoli at the weekend, but decided to backtrack because of their events in Libya.

A border guard vessel intercepted the vessel on Wednesday, escortându it to Harwich Port in Essex. British officials found aboard the Libyan currency money, they are confiscated.

Libyan currency was printed in a warehouse in north-east England after last week's seizure of another attempt to export a million in Libyan currency was stopped by the British Treasury.

Accounts worth 900 million British pounds of Libyan Col. Moammar Gaddafi has been frozen by Chancellor George Osborne last week. In addition, the British banned the unlicensed export of Libyan banknotes in the UK, as envisaged in UN sanctions.
